Cool Companies to Work For
Mar/Apr 2006, By Grace Parker

In this unorthodox place, founders Dan Igoe and Gregg Bergan invest in two things above all else: people and technology that allows ideas to thrive. You'd be hard-pressed to find a more technologically advanced agency. Wireless laptops with video cams, Blackberries, Treos and IP phones allow them to work virtually anywhere.

At Pure, money is not squandered on expensive furniture or display art. Pure employees built all the office's plywood desks and bookshelves by hand. And most of the mid-century modern furniture was purchased used on eBay.

Pure is a place where people are challenged to rise to the level of their greatest capabilities rather than the limitation of their job title. It's the main reason nobody's business card-including the founders - carries a title.

Pure believes great ideas come from anyone or anywhere. To foster this, people are not departmentalized, but rather, are paired in communal spaces to encourage a free flow of cross-pollenation Pure provides a retirement plan and profit sharing leading to possible ownership. Also, every employee at Pure is entitled to two "Karma Days" a year, allowing them to volunteer for worthy cause on the company.

On a lighter note, dogs routinely roam the halls. Pure employees use agency bike cruisers to ride to lunch, home or around the office. They also look forward to afternoon recess breaks at the nearby school playground and "Beer-thirty" every Friday.

We would like to extend an invitation to Colorado Company to visit Pure. Swing by during recess, stop by for a Monkey Ball or two (our official snack from the local coffee shop) or join us for "Beer-thirty."
