Average “Successful” Joe
I enjoyed your last cover story. Its an interesting approach to take entrepreneurs, and well, the rest of us, and know that we all have an interesting story to tell – without having to be Roger Staubach, Mo Siegel, or David Moll. I love your magazine because you understand that there is a starting point and a lot of space in between before entrepreneurial stardom exists. And many of us don’t really ever realize the social status of a business super star. For that, you understand there are a lot of us in the middle. Thank you for taking a very Fast Company approach to your editorial. Profiling guys like Tim Caviezel, and depicting a story about him rather than his super star brother – that is a story many of us can relate to. Having a successful sibling or spouse and deserving recognition in our own right. Your magazine does just that. I like that you can find an amazing story with anyone.

I know this is a business magazine, and this will truly sound crazy, but I loved reading about Tim Caviezel in the last issue. I attended your Anniversary party at Strings in hopes of bumping into him and hopefully, he will be at The Bold & The Bankrolled event where I might get a second chance to meet him. In the mean time, if you could drop him a note and tell him I loved the story and with guys like him, I think more girls will be “interested” in the game of basketball!

Happy Anniversary
Wow!! I just want to say CONGRATULATIONS! I’m so impressed with your magazine; it’s good to recognize top executives in our community doing great work. I’m unable to attend the anniversary celebration, but certainly am happy for your success. Party hard...all the best.

Plan B
Where do you find these guys? I saw your last story – very cool. I similarly transitioned from being a college athlete to working in biotech. There is life after sports. I hope Mr. Caviezel serves as a role model for many of today’s aspiring athletes who may or may not reach their full potential with their sport of choice and know the importance of having a backup plan. At the very least, the importance of an education and an alternative interest will help many have a productive and rewarding future. It was difficult for me to give up football. I believed I would be the next Elway for Colorado. But I rapidly lost interest in the game and like Caviezel, felt burn out. That was the catalyst that pushed me forward. I jumped into something else I really enjoyed and I have never looked back. Except for the occasional coaching stint with the Boys and Girls Club!
