Thomas Cooper
Lightbox Images
Imagine for a second being behind the camera lens shooting the likes of Colin Powell, Donald Trump, Paul Newman, and a myriad of celebrity hot shots. Or to capture a priceless photo of a “batter up” during a little league game that one proud set of parents will keep forever.
Even better though, is to be recognized for such outstanding talent in one of the most prestigious publications for photographers work. National Geographic. This year marks the opportunity and the well deserved accolades for Thomas Cooper of Lightbox Images as he is presented in the pages of National Geographic for his work on Colorado wildfires.
Tom’s notoriety extends beyond his commercial work as one of Colorado Company Magazine’s favorite photographers; through his art, he is on a quest to preserve precious parts of the world that are fast disappearing. His eye for composition and his drive to capture the whole story have led him to photograph, from start to finish, such unforgettable news events as Columbine and the Hayman Fire.
Pushing the boundaries, he has an instinctive sense of timing in the pursuit of an image. The result is a string of awards attesting to his ability to capture news, wildlife, fashion, commercial projects, intimate weddings and of course, many famous people.
His work has been featured in over 30 publications in the U.S., including The New York Times, Sports Illustrated and Time Magazine as well as numerous international publications.
