Jan/Feb 2007,

Ultimately, my favorite part of the job is selecting the cover story for each issue. Typically, it’s easy to sort through content and logically pick a great cover. With the first issue of the year, our fifth anniversary to boot, it came as no surprise to us that we were challenged to select just one cover.
With that in mind, we decided to do something a bit unusual. Run all three covers. So of course, you will see each cover in this issue, and we’ve run each for distribution. Why? To prove a point. Colorado is filled with amazing companies. Start-ups, success stories, long standing contributors to the economy – and not just fascinating people running them. Trying to pick just a few stories each issue, let alone a cover story, is a challenge to pare down the prospects. It is for this reason we are heading into the new year with a renewed sense of purpose.
Continually met with scrutiny for the meaning behind business magazines for the state, we have managed to build a great readership and a following that demands more. So we are giving it! This year we are adding new departments, increasing our size, and of course, maintaining our community presence. We hope you will find the pages inviting and we encourage you to submit your thoughts and comments.
I’d like to reminisce a bit and showcase our covers over the years. Yes, proud and stubborn – two very useful entrepreneurial traits to have!
